Push for Athlete Development At the opening ceremonies, it was revealed that the PSC and DepEd, represented by Sec. Leonor Briones, are working together to build the country’s first-ever Sports Academy. This milestone is a stride towards improving the sports programs in the country and instilling life lessons among the youth that can only be learned from entering competitions.
It was also announced that PSC has rolled out a program that will help identify the strengths and weaknesses of young athletes in order to direct them towards the correct sports program that will help them become better athletes in the coming years.
Called the Philippine Sports Institute-Sports Mapping Action Research Talent Identification, PSC tested more than 1,000 athletes from 27 sports during the Batang Pinoy National Finals. This campaign aims to provide the right training that will help them in their career as athletes.
