    Sports officiating on PSC Rise Up Shape Up

    The Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) will discuss Filipino international sports officials in the upcoming webisode of Rise Up, Shape Up this Saturday, October 23.

    The PSC - Women in Sports (WIS) program dedicates the episode to sports officials who make the extra effort and contribution in bolstering integrity, respect, and good sportsmanship in games and competitions.

    “It is our simple way of extending our gratitude to them for their selfless effort, passion, and love for sports especially in producing world-class Filipino talents.” WIS oversight Commissioner Celia H. Kiram said.

    The lady commissioner will also share some facts and trivia on sports officiating in her regular segment “Kwentong Isport.

    Five Filipina technical officials who were part of the technical teams in the recent 2020+1 Tokyo Olympic Games will headline Saturday’s webisode starting at 10:30 am. They are Marilee Estampador and Karla Cabrera, International Technical Officials for Fencing; Jercyl Lerin and Coach Leonora Escollante, International Technical Officials for Rowing and Paddling, respectively.

    They will share their learning experiences in officiating top-level competitions such as the Olympics and will share insights on taking up sports officiating as a career.

    Also joining the program is Dr. Marie Paz Angeles, who will talk about career paths and development for aspiring sports officials.

    Dr. Angeles served as Head and International Accreditor of Tarlac State University in partnership with the Russian Register based in St Petersburg, Russia. She is currently the Chairperson of the Tarlac State University Research Ethics and Review Committee and the co-chair of the Psychological Association of the Philippines - Educational Psychology Division.
