COUNTRY'S top executive woodpushers led by dentist Jenny Mayor will see action in the 2018 Alphaland National Executive and Kiddies Chess Championships slated on June 30, 2018 at the Activity Hall, Second Floor, Alphaland Makati Place, corner Malugay Street in Makati City.
“I hope to do well in the upcoming Alphaland National Executive Chess Championships,” said Mayor, who topped the 4th leg (Visayas leg) held at the Kubo Bar Garden and Restaurant in Kalibo, Aklan last April 28 and placed second over-all in the 5th leg (Mindanao leg) dubbed as Senator Manny Pacquiao National Executive Chess Championship held at the Punta Isla Resort in Lake Sebu, South Catabato last Saturday (May 26, 2018).
Mayor, a seven-times Philippine Executive Champion, amassed 6 points in the 7-round rapid format finished in a tie for first place along with eventual champion Roumundo Jaime Alexis Edades Jr. and third placer Fide Master Nelson "Elo" Mariano III last Sunday (May 27, 2018) in the South Cotabato Open Chess Championship in the same venue successfully organized businessmen and entrepreneur by Joselito "Lito" Dormitorio.
The Quiapo resident Mayor, who is also based in Sibuyan Island, Romblon helps his kababayans in their dental and agricultural need, promote local island tourism and encourage sports development by holding chess activities throughout the area.
In fact, Mayor will hold a mini chess tournament on Wednesday to honor the late Verth Alora of Anda, Pangasinan.
Joining Mayor are first leg winner engineer Benjamin "Benjie" Esquejo, second leg winner engineer Arjoe Loanzon, 3rd leg winner chemist Richie Evangelista and 4th leg runner-up Atty. Cliburn Anthony A. Orbe, who is the founder of the Philippine Executive Chess Association (PECA).
