PIPIGILAN ni national champion Grandmaster (GM) Darwin Laylo sina 13-times Philippine Open champion Grandmaster Rogelio "Joey" Antonio Jr. at Grandmaster elect International Master Ronald Dableo sa prestiyosong titulo ng pagsulong ng Chief PNP (Philippine National Police) Cup King of the Board Chess Challenge na may temang "Push Pawns Not Drugs" na iinog sa Linggo, Mayo 13, 2018 na gaganapin sa Camp Crame, Quezon City.

Ang tubong San Roque, Marikina bet na si Laylo, miyembro ng multi-titled Philippiner Army chess team at bahagi ng coaching staff ng Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU) ang 1st winner ng 2017 Chooks-to-Go National Rapid Chess Championship na ginanap sa Vista Mall, Santa, Rosa, Laguna nitong nakaraang taon.
Si Laylo din ang close confidante ni World Number Eight Super Grandmaster Wesley Barbasa So (Elo 2778).

Nakatutok din sa top prize P10,000 plus elegant trophy sa Open section sina International Master Chito Garma, Fide Masters Nelson "Elo" Mariano III at Nelson Villanueva, National Master Romeo Alcodia, Philippine Executive Champion Atty. Cliburn Anthony A. Orbe at Information Technology (IT) expert Joselito Cada ayon kay tournament organizer Joms Mendoza Pascua sa event na sinuportahan nina PMA Class 92 PSSUPT Jose Melencio Nartatez, PSSUPT Jonnel C. Estomo, PNP chess club adviser PSUPT Jonas Escarcha at PSUPT Peter Limbauan ng PNP Special Service kung saan si chess kid wizard Srihaan Poddar ng International School Manila (ISM) ang paborito naman sa kiddies division na ang top prize ay P3,000.

Ipaparada naman ng PNP chess team ang kanilang mga pambato na sina National Masters Ali Branzuela at Rolando Andador at PSUPT Jaime "Kuya Jim" Osit Santos kung saan magsasagawa naman ng friendly match sina Gen. Peter Rosano Policarpio Donato ng Civil Security Group at Gen. Manolo N. Ozaeta ng Legal Service.
