The royal family has revealed further details of Prince Harry's forthcoming wedding to Meghan Markle.

The marriage ceremony will begin at 12pm at St George's Chapel, Windsor Castle on May 19, 2018, Kensington Palace announced.

They will mark their wedding by taking a carriage procession through the streets of Windsor immediately after tying the knot.

Details of the ceremony were released by the couple last night showing they will marry at noon and then go out to greet the cheering crowds straight after.

Their High Noon date with destiny at St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle was revealed in the first of a series of wedding updates from Kensington Palace.

Harry, 33, and Meghan, 36, will join their guests at a reception in St George’s Hall inside the castle after their carriage procession.

Later, in the evening there will be a second reception for close family and friends hosted by Prince Charles.

It was announced that the Dean of Windsor, the Rt Rev David Conner, will conduct the service.

The Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, will officiate as the couple make their marriage vows.

Thousands are expected to line the streets of Windsor to see the carriage procession, which will be similar to the tour of the town that the Queen made on her 90th birthday.

The bride and groom will leave the castle at 1pm immediately after the ceremony via Castle Hill and travel along the High Street, Sheet Street, Kings Road and Albert Road before returning to the castle via the Long Walk.

Their guests will gather in St George’s Hall in the upper part of the castle and they will be joined by the newly weds when they return from their carriage procession.

Harry and Meghan announced their engagement last November 2017.
