Actor/singer Matteo Guidicelli once again wowed his fans with his music.
Matteo took his new single, “Hey” on the ASAP stage on Oct. 8, with no less than two of the country’s hit musicians of 90’s bands - Ira Cruz of Bamboo, Introvoys and Passage and Nathan Azarcon of Rivermaya.
With the two reuniting on stage to jam with Matteo since they last played together in Hijo band way back 2011, the performance was remarkable that definitely took the fans back to the golden age of Pinoy bands.
Both Ira and Nathan have established themselves in the OPM industry as their bands conquered the airwaves and the music scene of the 90’s; and their alternative rock sound is one of Matteo’s musical influences.
Matteo’s sound in this single captures the interests of his audience as he brings back the 90’s alternative rock vibe. The song is about the typical Pinoy courtship story of trying to win the favor of the girl’s parents. “Hey” is part of Matteo’s new album, which will be launched in his concert on Nov. 30 at Kia Theater.
The actor/singer also announced the special guests on his first big concert – rising artist Kiana Valenciano and rapper Loonie and one of this generation’s sought-after female artists, Morisette Amon.
Matteo and his team also collaborated with Louie Ocampo and Rowell Santiago who, according to Big Bang Production’s Shy Sison-Vesagas, worked with Matteo in his sold-out concert in Cebu.
“Hey” was launched in ABS CBN’s MOR on Sept. 13 and its music video the week after. It has been doing very well on the charts of the top FM stations since it was launched, which is likely to be a hit just like his first album that received the Gold Award after his performance in ASAP.
