The role closest to Anne Curtis’ heart

Anne Curtis has played a princess, a mermaid, a centaur, a hunchback, and a host of interesting characters in her two decades in showbiz. But there is one role she is eager to play – yes, aside from being the future Mrs. Erwann Heusaff – that of a fairy godmother.

Anne Curtis has played a princess, a mermaid, a centaur, a hunchback, and a host of interesting characters in her two decades in showbiz. But there is one role she is eager to play – yes, aside from being the future Mrs. Erwann Heusaff – that of a fairy godmother.

Curtis, 32, wants to help make dreams come true.

“It’s my dream to just be a dream maker, parang fairy godmother,” she revealed.

At the launch of her project, Dream Machine (https://www.dreammachine.ph), a platform that she said will help connect dreamers with people who are ready and willing to support and nurture their wishes and hopes, she talked about how she was once derided for her dream of becoming a concert artist and waxing her own album.

“Dati nagpapa ghost singer pa ako sa ‘ASAP,’ hanggang sa sabi ko, you know what, hindi, this is my dream, I wanna be a singer,” she related, “Ilalabas ko ‘yung kung sino ako. And thankfully, tinanggap naman. So I believe if your heart is in the right place in pursuing your dreams, you can make it happen.”

Anne, who has been doing charity works quietly for many years, decided to put up the Dream Machine after hearing stories of dream shaming.

“It is sad when people set dreams in their hearts only to be dream-shamed by people either because of their color, their status in life, their current skills. It gets worse when it is their own family or their loved ones who shoot down their dreams.

The Dream Machine platform hopes to encourage dreamers to continue chasing their dreams and we will do our best to help them,” she said.

Through Dream Machine, she hopes to connect with dreamers and learn more about their dreams through the Dream Machine website.

There are three categories of dreams that Dream Machine will be supporting: Youth, Education and Empowerment.

“Before the school year started, we were approached by the General Roxas Elementary School in Quezon City for support in their school renovation. Dream Machine was very happy to help and we are hoping that the renovation will inspire the students to study better,” she shared.

No matter how small or grand it may be, the actress-host is willing to give dreamers the push to turn their vision into reality.

“One of the great things with Dream Machine now is we can help you pursue those dreams. We can assist you in making that happen, you might not have the proper support around you, but that’s the beauty of Dream Machine. I hope it can be a community of people, a movement, for all the pursuers of dreams or dream chasers … and then we’ll have a group, a community of dream makers who will help these people have those dreams come true,” she said.

Anne said she’ll be happy to welcome other people who would want to be part of the Dream Machine as dream-givers as much as she would love to hear the stories of the dreamers.

“At the end of the day, what Dream Machine hopes to achieve is to be able to inspire the dreamers, help them achieve their dreams and hopefully be able to start a dream revolution where there’ll be a lot of dream-givers to help the dreamers. The world will be a much happier place when that happens,” she remarked.

Dream Machine will also roll out the red carpet for the dream weddings of three couples on the first quarter of next year. Couples are invited to share their love stories with Anne through the Dream Machine website. Three couples will be chosen and will be provided their own dream weddings by the Dream Machine.

On her own wedding, the social media darling revealed she is “very, very excited about it” and “looking forward to it.” But she has one request – for it to be private.

“I think it’s a personal choice,” she said, “My fans are asking but were hoping that everyone will keep it quiet, but, of course, after the ceremony, we’ll be sharing every bit.”

Dreamers may start sending in their dreams via the Dream Machine website http://www.dreammachine.ph/.
