In the movie, Garcia plays Caloy, a cancer patient who falls in love with a girl named Mika (Barretto) who believes in aliens.  The two embark on a roadtrip filled with adventures and misadventures, not knowing that it will lead them to experiencing their most memorable romance at such a young age. They unexpectedly teach each other an important lesson on love and life – one that takes most people a lifetime to learn.

The movie has been screening in the US and Canada since Friday, and will have another international screening in Australia and New Zealand on Sept. 14.

Meanwhile, another millennial themed romantic film premiered on the big screen on Wednesday.

Dance duo Ella Cruz and Julian Trono took their tandem to a higher level with Fanboy/Fangirl, a coming-of-age flick produced by Joyce Bernal Production for Viva Films and N2 Productions.

Heavily influenced by K-Pop, the film is directed by Barry Gonzalez and is about a wannabe actor and a talented teleserye dubber who agrees to help him improve his acting. Her coaching helps him achieve his dream of becoming a star only to find herself heartbroken when he becomes successful.
