How do you show love for your lolo and lola?

Araneta Center pays tribute to all grandparents with #LOL Day: Love Our Lolo and Lola Day tomorrow. With activities happening in Ali Mall and Farmers Plaza, and a main event unfolding at the Gateway Mall activity area, the goal is for them to have a lot of fun with their families.

As a special treat, Binibining Pilipinas Grand International Elizabeth Clenci and Binibining Pilipinas International Mariel de Leon will serenade the lolos and lolas in Gateway Mall.  Elizabeth is a bassist and has toured with blues artist Claude Hay in Australia before she won Binibining Pilipinas International. Mariel, on the other hand, is an actor and a classically trained singer who has been part of the Opera Belles.

The Quezon City Performing Arts Choir will also serenade the audience in Gateway Mall while artists from Filipino Portrait Artists Guild will hold a live sketching activity at the venue.

However, it’s not all fun and games on #LOL Day.

The Araneta Center is using this celebration to inspire people to care for their elders by focusing on their health and wellness.

By presenting at least P600 worth of single receipt, senior citizens are entitled to free health check-ups, and enjoy the program with health talks and product sampling at the Gateway Mall, Ali Mall, and Farmers Plaza. Registrants will also have a chance to win exciting prizes in all malls via games and raffle draws.

In Ali Mall and Farmers Plaza, seniors can join the Zumba party led by the award-winning Philippine Twiinz Alec Pang and Manny Licsi. Joining the high-energy duo are certified Zumba instructors Bryan Sanipa, Michael Lyon Partosa, Anet Buena, Ted Jimenez, Norman Buena, Harrich Kubong, Jenny Juntila, and Gina Matias.

Meanwhile, in partnership with the J. Amado Araneta Foundation, Araneta Center will host a watercolor art therapy session for elders from Barangay Socorro, Quezon City. Facilitated by artists from Grupo Kwadro, the session will be held at the Gateway Gallery today.

#LOL Day: Love Your Lolo and Lola Day is also running a digital contest where those who share their memorable stories about their grandparents will have a chance to win a buffet meal for the whole family at Novotel Manila Araneta Center.

Show your grandparents some love by taking them to #LOL Day: Love Our Lolo and Lola Day at the Araneta Center 10 a.m. tomorrow. Share your own #MyAranetaLOLDayStory on social media.
