Time to sit back and unwind… Will Smith and DJ Jazzy Jeff are officially reuniting, and it's happening this "summer, summer, Summertime!"
The two announced the exciting news with a video posted to their social media accounts this week, featuring vintage footage from their Fresh Prince of Bel-Air days.
The text between the clips revealed the popular '90s hip-hop duo will be returning to the stage together for two sets in Europe this summer. They'll be performing at the Summerblast Festival, presented by MTV, on Aug. 26 in Croatia, and the Livewire Festival on Aug. 27 in the U.K.
"First two shows are locked!! Y'all ready?" Smith, who goes by the rap name "The Fresh Prince," captioned his post, while Jeff wrote, "Yup..and THIS IS FINALLY HAPPENING!!! #JJFPReturn #vinyldestination."
The performances will mark their first official shows together in 12 years. In 1989, the group received the first GRAMMY Award for Best Rap Performance for their hit "Parents Just Don't Understand." They earned a second GRAMMY for Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group in 1992 for their most popular song, "Summertime," off their fourth studio album, Homebase.
Smith is apparently feeling extra nostalgic as of late, as the 48-year-old actor, who portrayed the lead role in The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, reunited with his co-stars last month, 20 years after the series finale aired. Alfonso Ribeiro, Tatyana Ali, Karyn Parsons, Joseph Marcell and Daphne Reid were all in attendance, later sharing a group snap to Instagram.
