A planned three-week shoot in Italy for Tom Cruise’s new “Mission: Impossible” film has been postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak, movie studio Paramount Pictures said on Monday.

Filming was due to have started on Monday in Venice, where the final two days of the lagoon city’s annual Carnival festival was canceled on Sunday. New coronavirus cases climbed above 220 on Monday as Italy shut down much of its wealthy north to curb the disease’s spread.

 

New queens were crowned at the Saniata ti Ylocos Sur 2020 pageant night, February 2 at the Tamag Grounds . The pageant is a highlight of the annual Kannawidan Ylocos Festival that celebrates Ilocos Sur being a separate province and a treasure chest of traditions and culture. 

Stars Dazzle at Kannawidan 2020

Ilocos Sur – The biggest movie and television stars dazzled at the Kannawidan Ylocos Festival 2020, filling up PGIS’ 7,000-capacity Tamag Grounds in Vigan City from January 28 to February 9, 2020.

“Every Ilocano looks forward to the Kannawidan Festival because it is a grand celebration of our culture. It is a time where every municipality comes together as one to thank God not only for our bountiful harvests but also to celebrate our successes and gains as a province.  Our gratitude extends to all the celebrities who graced this occasion and provided entertainment to the people,” said Governor Ryan Singson.

Seasoned actor Gabby Concepcion, Dimples Romana and Beauty Gonzales of Kadenang Ginto, Gerald Anderson, Derek Ramsey, Ronnie Alonte, Vin Abrenica, Bianca Umali, Ken Chan, Ashley Ortega, Derrick Monasterio, Ritz Azul, Barbie Imperial, Loisa Andalio, Katarina Rodriguez and Joseph Marco greeted the Ilocanos.

Jericho Rosales, Paolo Ballesteros, Kristine Reyes, Jameson Blake, JC De Vera, and Erich Gonzales serenaded fans in the jampacked open field. Rap master Andrew E. made the crowd wild with his hit songs, while Parokya ni Edgar, Silent Sanctuary, Ben and Ben, IDOLLS, Kaye Cal, The Juans, December Avenue, Skusta Clee, and Jk Labajo and his band rocked the Tamag Grounds.

Maja Salvador delighted fans as she interacted with the crowd in the Ilocano dialect during the coronation of the Saniata ti Agtutubo (pageant for 6 to 10 year old girls) and the Kannawidan 2020 Saniata ti Ilocos Sur Beauty Pageant, both hosted by KC Montero and Isabel Daza.  Miko Raval and Enchong Dee also regaled the crowd with their own numbers in the pageants. 

The UNP Gym was also packed with basketball-loving celebrities like Onyok Velasco, JC Tiuseco, Joross Gamboa, Mark Herras, Jordan Herrera, Matt Evans, Jason Abalos, Gab Lagman and Dunker David Carlos who played an exhibition game against Ilocos Sur Team, product of Gov. Ryan’s Cup.

“We try to introduce new highlights every year to make every celebration of the Kannawidan Festival unique, dynamic and fun for the people. Last year, in order to highlight Ilocano creativity and artistry, we held the Tinnatoan 7 Governor Ryan Singson Ilocos Tattoo Expo with our good friends Ricky Sta. Ana, Reynor Palas, and Richard Buenaventura.  While this year we are happy to start the “Sagupaan sa Ilocos” boxing event held at the Sto.Domingo People’s coliseum to promote boxing as a sport and discover future athletes,” said Gov. Singson. 

The Governor thanked all who supported Kannawidan - Vice Gov.Jerry Singson and all Board Members, Provincial Administrator Cara Tabios and the whole PGIS Family, LGU’S, National Gov’t Agencies, NGOs, media, the academe, the religious sector, the organizers,  special projects head Jam Singson, and thousands of volunteers.

The wife of sports journalist Robbie Pangilinan plans to file a complaint against BDO for deducting P77,000 from their joint account without informing them.

Pangilinan will soon undergo angioplasty after suffering from a heart attack back in 2011, a stroke in 2017 and 2019, and severe palpitations since last year. For the past nine months, The family has been raising funds for the costly and urgent medical procedure.
