Gomez family remains strong amidst trials

“Good things emerge from negative experiences. We learn valuable lessons and most importantly, we feel the love and support of our loved ones, our family,” says Ormoc City Mayor Richard Gomez, referring to the recent trial that the Gomez family is undergoing.

“Good things emerge from negative experiences. We learn valuable lessons and most importantly, we feel the love and support of our loved ones, our family,” says Ormoc City Mayor Richard Gomez, referring to the recent trial that the Gomez family is undergoing.

The actor filed a complaint-affidavit charging three police officers of Grave Misconduct, Oppression/Grave Abuse of Authority, Dishonesty and Conduct Unbecoming of a Public Officer. He was implicated in the drug trade during the investigation of the Senate Committee on Public Order and Dangerous Drugs and Committee on Justice and Human Rights on the death of Albuera town Mayor Rolando Espinosa Sr. while detained at Baybay City Sub-Provincial Jail.

“The truth will come out, and the truth will set us free,” adds Richard’s wife, Rep. Lucy Torres Gomez of the fourth district of Leyte.

Even while their daughter Juliana has been negatively affected by the issue, the Gomezes believe that this problem has strengthened their family even more.

“Of course, there are things that Juliana still cannot understand, or has a hard time accepting, especially about politics. But rather than shielding her, we explain and together discuss how to get through the problems. We are a team,” says Richard, who believes that the police officers he filed charges against are out to destroy his reputation.
