MANILA – Vickie Rushton took to social media to share her thoughts after the coronation night of Binibining Pilipinas 2018 last Sunday.
The former “Pinoy Big Brother” housemate was a crowd favorite in Bb. Pilipinas 2018, which sends representatives to Miss Universe and other international pageants.
She was unable to win a title, but she finished first runner-up.
“I can’t put into words what I really feel now that the competition is over, but my heart is grateful and overjoyed,” she said in an Instagram post on Monday.
“From the bottom of my heart, thank you very much for the prayers, support, and well-wishes,” added the beauty queen, who won Mutya ng Pilipinas back in 2011.
Fans left several comments on Rushton’s Instagram post, with many of them congratulating her for an impressive performance in the national pageant.
Others encouraged her to join again next year, believing that she has a better chance of winning the Miss Universe Philippines crown on her second attempt.
Meanwhile, actor Jason Abalos had nothing but good words for Rushton, his girlfriend.
“Congrats, Baba, so proud of you,” he said. “Ang galing mo, nagulat ako na ganoon ka pala ‘pag nasa stage na, sobrang nakakakaba.”
In the comments section, Abalos referred to Rushton as “Jason’s Queen,” responding to a fan who asked if the beauty queen was given a crown.
Catriona Gray emerged as the big winner in Bb. Pilipinas 2018, bringing home the Miss Universe Philippines crown and five special awards.
Before announcing the new winners, the 2016 queens made their final walk; their final audio message of thanks and tips played on the background.
