Meet the 2 new grand finalists of 'Tawag ng Tanghalan'

Metro Manila - Tuko delos Reyes and Sofronio Vasquez are moving on to the grand finals of "Tawag ng Tanghalan."

Metro Manila - Tuko delos Reyes and Sofronio Vasquez are moving on to the grand finals of "Tawag ng Tanghalan."

They outlasted four other contestants in a week-long semifinals on "It's Showtime" that saw them perform emotional tributes for their families, among several other challenges.

Delos Reyes, a pandesal vendor from Aurora, got the highest combined judges' score and public votes with 95.95%. Ozamiz native Vasquez came in second with 87.57%.

Both won P150,000 each and will join previously named grand finalists Makoto Inoue (Japan), Steven Paysu (USA), Jovany Satera (Mindanao), Alfred Relatado (Mindanao), Anton Antenorcruz (Luzon), and Remy Luntayao (Visayas).

Tawag ng Tanghalan is an amateur singing competition currently aired as a segment of the noontime show It's Showtime that first aired on January 2, 2016, created and managed by ABS-CBN. Dubbed as "Your all time favorite search for outstanding amateur talents", the competition is open to Filipino contenders from Metro Manila, Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
