PWDs get livelihood assistance in Tacloban

Tacloban City Mayor Cristina G. Romualdez distributed livelihood equipment to 76 Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) at the Tacloban City Training Center August 29.

The beneficiaries from City Northern Barangays received sewing machines and automatic sealers from the Mayor as part of the city’s ongoing livelihood program for its vulnerable sectors. The recipients underwent livelihood trainings on Mat and Rug Weaving and Food Processing.

Tacloban City Mayor Cristina G. Romualdez distributed livelihood equipment to 76 Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) at the Tacloban City Training Center August 29.

The beneficiaries from City Northern Barangays received sewing machines and automatic sealers from the Mayor as part of the city’s ongoing livelihood program for its vulnerable sectors. The recipients underwent livelihood trainings on Mat and Rug Weaving and Food Processing.

The 2-million peso project funding came from a grant from the Department of Trade and Industry’s Bottom Up Budgeting program. The grant was secured by the Livelihood Cluster of the  City Government composed of the City Social Welfare Office, Cristina’s Learn and Earn Program, City Cooperative Livelihood Development and Livelihood Assistance Office, and other city departments.

CCDLAO Chief Ruena Mate and City Social Welfare Officer Remedios Buna assisted the Mayor during the awarding of livelihood assistance.
