The Kabalikat sa Kabuhayan Urban Farmers’ Training Program has held orientations for urban farmers from Makati City and Bacoor in Cavite, with another scheduled in San Juan City before the month ends.

The orientation program of KSK, supported by SM Foundation, is an innovation of the training program whose initial target beneficiaries were rural or provincial-based marginal vegetable farmers.

The urban farmer’s training program seeks to train city dwellers with limited space the rudiments of vegetable farming, to ensure they will have sufficient vegetable supply for their daily needs.

The orientation programs were conducted in collaboration with MacPlas Academy, SM Foundation’s project partner for the urban farmers’ training program.

The orientation in Makati was held at Barangay 31, Sto. Nino Chapel, Tandang Sora and Nara Street, Southside, while that in Bacoor was held at the Villar SIPAG Farm in Nicolas Uno.

The scheduled orientation in San Juan will be held at the Pinaglabanan Shrine Covered Court.

Meanwhile, the KSK Rural Farmers’ Training Programs were launched in Pulilan, Bulacan and Angono, Rizal with project partner Harbest Agribusiness Corp.
