Avengers: Endgame was, as promised, the end of Marvel's cinematic universe as we know it -- but it was not the end of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Phase 3 officially came to a close with Spider-Man: Far From Home; now, the MCU continues on in new and exciting directions, with heroes we know and love and plenty of intriguing new faces.

TORONTO – Having a Joker without emerald hair would be like a Batman sans cape, cowl and all those wonderful toys.

And when filming the anticipated new “Joker” movie (in theaters Oct. 4), a gritty character study and origin story for the iconic Batman villain, Joaquin Phoenix had an issue with one scene where his character, Arthur Fleck, is dyeing his hair and “the green wasn't showing up,” he tells USA TODAY.

While Warner Bros. has had plenty of success with their DC superheroes in the past -- it is, after all, the studio that gave us The Dark Knight Trilogy -- their recent attempt at building a cinematic universe around Batman, Superman and their Justice League cohorts infamously proved less than, well, super.

Netflix constantly puts out series that blend unlikely genres together. And if you have ever wondered what it would be like to combine Lost with The Hunger Games, and a little Blue Crush nostalgia, well, you’re in luck because the new Netflix original series The I-Land appears to do just that.

The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing us Joker wouldn't be another Batman origin story. Especially after director Todd Phillips said he "didn't follow anything" from the comics, no one could have anticipated how integral a role Bruce Wayne would play in the movie.
