SURREY, CANADA via GLUTAMAX-  Hundreds of Filipino music lovers in Canada were in for a treat as the Himig ng Pag-ibig Canadian Concert Tour kicked off its series of shows at the R’s Bar Turf Hotel, coinciding with the R’s Bar second anniversary.

                Pinoy folk rock icon Lolita Carbon of the all-Filipino world-class group Asin jammed with Raffy Swap One in a night of timeless Pinoy music.

Riva Oquendo introduced the opening act care of Estribo Band who serenaded the crowd with half an hour of 90’s Tagalog love songs. Raffy Swap One brought onstage his RaffyOke that had the audience participate in singing favorite songs.

The MANILA Rock Show, Raffy’s Pinoy rock band followed. Raffy Ramiro, Lamar Alviar, Phoebe Jacobsen,  Jayne Anastacio, Lino Arboladura, and Ramjam Salvacion were met with the crowd’s warm cheers and applauses.

The PBJ Band and Seventh Route Band, also brought the house down with their covers and originals.

A Dance Dance Dance Party with DJ Jay R capped the night.

                The concert tour will go around Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Ontario, particularly Calgary, Winnipeg, Hamilton, Red Deer, Banff, Grande Prairie, Vancouver, Saskatoon, Regina, and Edmonton.
