INDAK PINAS

The two are the stars of the first dance movie Nadine Lustre and Sam Concepcion to come out in years since Annie Batungbakal with Nora Aunor in the early 80s.

Now, Viva’s Multimedia Princess, fresh from her back-to-back win as best actress at the Famas and Gawad Urian, stars with the young actor now called the Total Performer, Sam Concepcion. The pair is expected to bring the beat on the big screen in the dance movie of the year, Indak.

This is about a simple island girl, Jen, who loves dancing, but has never showed her true talent to anyone. Not until a video of her while dancing goes viral.

Vin (Sam Concepcion), leader of Indak Pinas, sees the video and looks for her. After meeting her, he invites her to come to Manila and join them.

Not confident with her own talent, Jen hesitates to accept Vin’s invitation at first. But Vin convinces Jen when he mentions that his group is going to compete at the World Dance Championship in South Korea. Also, he underscores that her presence in the group will have a great impact.

In Manila, Vin helps out Jen in improving her dancing, as well as in adjusting herself to city living. They not only find their groove, but also slowly fall for each other. With the rest of the crew, they must work together to bring out their best performance.

The film also shows that the two has to get over the hurdles in their budding personal relationship as well as their rapport with the rest of the dance crew. So, here’s what you, fans, have to watch out for. Will they win in South Korea? And if they do, will Jen and Vin win each other’s hearts as well?

We will also watch out if this combination rocks and make a dent in the local box office when it opens on 7 August.

Aside from the amazing choreography, Indak also features songs like “Sumayaw Sa Indak” by Nadine Lustre featuring Pio Balbuena and Shehyee, Sam Concepcion’s soulful version of “Ikot-Ikot” and Janine Teñoso’s heart-wrenching version of “Hindi Tayo Pwede” in the soundtrack of the movie.

Directed by Paul Alexei Basinillo, Indak was shot in the beautiful island of Bantayan in Cebu and scenic South Korea, making the whole movie a feast for the senses.
