Nothing says summer at home like coastal motifs and furniture in light colors. As the warmer months roll in, home furniture and furnishings brands Pottery Barn, Pottery Barn Kids, and West Elm recently launched their spring/summer 2019 collection.
The launch coincided with the celebration of Happy Concept Group founder Happy Ongpauco’s 20thanniversary in the food business.
Guests were served scrumptious canapés from Happy Concept Group and were treated to a live demonstration by Ongpauco on how to make a table spread—an inspiration for those who love hosting intimate dinners at home.
Furniture pieces and décor from Rustan’s Home and Pottery Barn’s spring/summer ‘19 collection, as well as Pottery Barn’s sister companies, Pottery Barn Kids and West Elm, were displayed for selling during the event. Shopping proceeds of the day’s sale went to Ongpauco’s chosen charity, MOVE.Org Foundation Inc.
Nostalgic coastal dreams
Pottery Barn’s latest collection for the season is highlighted by pieces that embrace the cool and carefree vibe of coastal living.
Deep blue-toned pieces like SoMa Valerie Armchair, with its gently sloping profile and tapered legs, calls to mind calm and serene afternoons by the ocean. Finish off the laid-back coastal vibe with vases, decorative wicker baskets, coral embroidered pillows, faux botanicals, and the tall and slender Maxwell Lantern, best paired with flameless candles to set the mood.
Whimsical days and nights
A new collaboration with renowned designer Monique Lhuillier is featured in Pottery Barn Kid’s spring/summer collection. This collection stays true to the designer’s ethereal, classic style while adding a hint of whimsy and imagination.
Sweet springtime style comes to children’s table in time for Easter Brunch with Lhuillier’s Easter Tabletop Collection including shatterproof plates and tumblers, placemats, napkins, and tablecloth. The pieces are whimsically designed with curious cheery rabbits surrounded by flowers that celebrate all things spring.
Light and airy with pops of color
Neutral with light airy looks peppered with pops of color and metal accents dominate West Elm’s spring/summer collection. Pieces for indoors and outdoors include Scandinavian-inspired Halden Wood + Metal Collection complete with roomy dining tables made for al fresco entertaining. Modern tablescapes featuring the Aaron Probyn Melamine dinnerware in pink grapefruit, citrus yellow, and silver pine and West Elm’s Gold Flatware set off the wood and metal dining tables.
Outdoor sectionals and lounge chairs from the brand’s Playa Collection features a slim profile and modern finish. Finish off the outdoor lounge area with faux botanicals.
For the inside, the best-selling Andes Sectional marries sleek modern elegance with surprising comfort. While the Lana Bed’s soft, sweeping curves are a modern update to the classic wingback. The iron-legged bed looks even prettier paired with the softly curved Pink Grapefruit Valentina Chair or the Wire Frame Slipper Chair.
