THE SM Megamall Fashion Hall is transformed into an immersive environment through an exhibit entitled Floating Mass, an ongoing collaborative overhead installation of monochromatic graduation.

THE SM Megamall Fashion Hall is transformed into an immersive environment through an exhibit entitled Floating Mass, an ongoing collaborative overhead installation of monochromatic graduation.

The creators are Stanley Ruiz, multi-awarded industrial designer and Creative Director of  Estudio Ruiz Design Consultancy, and De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde Industrial Design alumnus Gabriel Lichauco, founder of multidisciplinary design firm Openstudio.

Floating Mass is composed of organic forms in different volumes. By using flexible nets, the illusion of lightness and movement is achieved in such a way that each level or floor results in a different optic experience.

The set up coincides with SM’s Art For Everyone, a five-day student art fair featuring works and workshops from practitioners and design-academic institutions.

Floating Mass will run until Thursday, September 21, 2017.
