PSINSP and former Chief of Police Marjorie Manuta was named the first Sangyaw Queen in the annual Sangyaw Festiva of Tacloban City.

With 260,000 votes, Manuta was crowned by Tacloban City Mayor Cristina Gonzales-Romualdez, Sangyaw Foundation President Ma. Lourdes Anido and crown sponsor Richard James White on June 26 at Patio Victoria. She will also act as the Tacloban Ambassadress of Goodwill.

Marjorie, a mother of three with one child afflicted with Lupus, wants to create a Lupus advocacy team in Tacloban City and use 60 percent of her prize money to refurbish a TCPO room.

Marjorie is a hands-on mom to her four children. She offered her award to daughter Nicole, the one who has Lupus.

“She has monthly check-ups, laboratory tests, maintenance. I shoulder all the expenses. I prepare her food every day. No sugar, I only use honey. I also rarely give her milk to keep her digestive system healthy,” said Marjorie in Filipino.

“It's PNP’s year to shine! PO1 Ayra Pacencia was named PNP Ganda Police and PNP’s pride Marjorie Manuta is the first Sangyaw Queen of Tacloban City.
