Free health services for Green Card holders

Being a Green Card holder is such a big help to publicist Robbie Pangilinan when he suffered from a stroke last week.

No, he is not an American citizen. The Green Card he has is the one that more than 100,000 Las Piñas residents also have – a card that provides support to LP residents who are in need of financial assistance with the high cost of medical care.

Las Piñas Doctors Hospital supports Green Card holders such as Robbie. On April 19, he was rushed to LPDH after he felt numbness on his face. He commends the medical staff of the hospital for their care and expertise, particularly the nurses and neurologist Dr. Natividad Desquitado, cardiologist Dr. Francisco Rubrica, and internal medicine doctor Dr. Austine Magno.

The city government of Las Piñas gives free hospitalization package worth Php 30,000 to Green Card holders. City Mayor Imelda Aguilar is key in strengthening the city government’s hospitalization program and making health care more accessible to Las Piñas residents with the Green Card.

The Department of Health gave Las Piñas the prestigious “Sentrong Sigla” award for its efforts to make health services available to city residents. This award is given to the finest health facilities and programs throughout the country.

“Layunin po naming bigyan ng libreng gamot at hospitalization ang lahat ng taga- Las Piñas,” says Mayor Aguilar.
