After 63 Years, France won their second title in Miss Universe

Finally after 63 long years Miss France Iris Mittenaere is the 65th Miss Universe.

Pia Wurtzbach crowned Iris Mittenaere as the winner of Miss Universe 2016 on Monday morning in the Philippines. The Top 3 of the international beauty contest.

The three finalists in the pageant came from Colombia, France and Haiti. There has only been one Miss Universe winner from France—and that was in 1953.

Iris Mittenaere was born in the north of France in Lille. She’s currently pursuing a degree in dental surgery.

Miss Haiti Raquel Pelissier.is the first runner-up, while Miss Colombia Andrea Tovar is the second runner-up. The top six contestants are Miss France Iris Mittenaere, Miss Kenya Mary EstherWere, Miss Colombia Andrea Tovar, Miss Thailand Chalita Suansane, Miss Philippines Maxine Medina and Miss Haiti Raquel Pelissier. The candidates who made it to the next round of the Miss Universe pageant came from Kenya, Indonesia, USA, Mexico, Peru, Panama, Colombia, Philippines, Canada, Brazil, France, Haiti and Thailand.
