Tacloban City – Disaster responder Cassandra Marie “Cassey” Chuca Lee is Sangyaw Festival “MISS TACLOBAN 2018” crowned June 22 (Friday) at the Tacloban City Convention Center. The 24 yrs. old Hotel & Restaurant Management (HRM) 4th year student, has served the Tacloban City Rescue Unit (TACRU) for three years as volunteer rescuer. Cassey is also TACRU’s Basic Life Support instructor, First Aid and Junior Rescue Program Trainor.
She bested 11 other Ms. Tacloban candidates in her wit and beauty performances and brought home with her 50K cash prize, trophy and the thousand dollar worth Venezuelan made crown donated by Mr. Richard White.
Ms. Lee likewise garnered six special awards namely: Ms. Oishi; Ms. Executive Facial Care; Ms. RDL; Ms. Natasha; Ms. Sofia’s Way and Ms. Robinson Mall. And got four (4) Major Awards: Ms. Advocacy Project; Best Philippine Terno; Ms. Professionalism and Best in Evening Gown.
Cassey, represent Barangay 110 Utap, stands 5’5” and 103 lbs. with 33-25-36 vital statistics. As Ms. Love, Cassey advocated the love for volunteerism among the youth and encourages them to be part of voluntary community services. To fellow rescuers Cassey is a wholesome and down to earth person. Cassandra Marie is the 2nd of 4 brood of couple Atty. Cesar Lee and Ma. Corazon Chuca-Lee. Siblings Ingrid, Katie and sweetheart were all proud of their sister performance.
Sangyaw Festival Miss Tacloban 2018 crown contenders who made it to the top 5 were: 1st runner up – Ivy Mae De Mesa; 2nd runner up- Khristel Loirah Pulga; 3rd runner up – Marie Carmen Songalia and 4th runner up – Kimberly Rose Ruedas. Equally they got a trophy and cash prize of 40K, 30K, 20K and 10K respectively.
The top 5 contenders who competed with 12 candidates in production attire, swimwear, Philippine terno, evening gown, talent, advocacy project, Q&A and professionalism, were likewise judged according to poise & bearing, beauty, projection of womanhood, appropriateness of the attire, stage deportment, originality & authenticity, style & delivery and consistency.
The Sangyaw Festival ‘Miss Tacloban 2018” search is a yearly beauty quest of the City Government of Tacloban under Mayor Cristina G. Romualdez leadership in partnership with the Sangyaw Foundation Inc. (SFI) to inspire young lady Taclobanon to believe in themselves, empower young ladies build confidence and be a role model in respective communities.
Ms. Tacloban 2018 will be Tacloban’s ambassador of goodwill, Mayor Cristina G. Romualdez said in an interview. Special guest of the Grand Coronation Night includes Concert Queen Pops Fernandez, singer artist Neil Colleta, ABS-CBN Mario Dumaual, New Yorker Pastry Chef Jesuit Nugas, Ms. Earth 2018 Silvia Celeste Curtesi, Ms. Earth Air Philippines 2018 Zahra Bianca Saldua and our very own recording artist Sofia Romualdez.
