SM Foundation seeks scholars

SM Foundation is now accepting applications for its scholarship program for academic year 2018-2019. Online application is available through the SM Foundation website www.sm-foundation.org, where a list of partner colleges and universities are available.

Qualified to apply for the program are public high school graduates and private high school graduates with DepEd vouchers after completing Grade 10 from public schools in certain covered areas across the country.

Applicants must be fourth year high school or grade 12 graduating students with a general weighted average of at least 88 percent by the second of third grading period. Their total household income must also be at most P150,000 per year.

Once admitted to the program, the scholars can pursue courses in the field of accountancy, computer science, engineering and education.

Application period is from October to December 2017, after which applications will be evaluated and SM Foundation will come up with a list of qualified applicants who can proceed to take the written examination and further screening.

Covered by the program are students from (in Luzon) the National Capital Region, Albay, Batangas, Benguet, Bulacan, Cagayan, Camarines Sur, Cavite, Isabela, Laguna, Nueva Ecija, Palawan, Pampanga, Pangasinan, Quezon, Rizal, Tarlac, and Zambales; (in Visayas) Capiz, Cebu, Iloilo, Leyte, and Negros Occidental; and Agusan del Norte, Davao del Sur, Misamis Oriental, South Cotabato, and Zamboanga del Sur in Mindanao.
