“This is 10 years in the making!” exclaimed Etonline correspondent Christian Cunanan, referring to the concert titled “Throwback Sessions” that had three big Filipino bands performing for one night in Vancouver.

Concert organizer Isabel Velayo of Innovision Production thanked Wency Cornejo of After Image, the members of the Introvoys Paco Arespacochaga, Jonathan Buencamino, Jonathan Dela Paz, Jj Buencamino, Priam Guiuan and Albert Jobelle, and Perfecto De Castro of Rivermaya for their performance.

“Thank you for putting on a really great show for Vancouver! It was one of the best shows I’ve seen!” said Velayo who received help from her mother Mary Anne Velayo and Chris Loredo for the concert.

Wency, who pursued a solo career when After Image disbanded in 2001, thanked everyone who watched the concert, especially the Filipino-Canadian community and the event organizers.

“Salamat sa lahat ng nanood. Yes, it’s true 10 years in the making na makapagsamasama kami nila Jonathan ng Introvoys and Perf ng Rivermaya. Imagine dito pa kami sa Vancouver nagkasamasama,” added Wency, the voice behind popular songs “Habang May Buhay,” “Next in Line,” and “Mangarap Ka.”

“Mabuhay kayo, babalik kami ulit. Sana kasama na ang mga banda nila Wency at Perf para isang malaking reunion,” said Jonathan of the Introvoys.

The Introvoys, now based in Los Angeles, California, is still active with original members Jonathan, Jj Buencamino, and Paco Arespacochaga. They released their latest album, “Where We Left Off” in January 2016 and currently available for download on their website, www.introvoys.com/store.

Velayo also thanked Socorro-Babes Castro Newland , Joan Frias and the rest of the production crew; and the concert’s sponsors and media partners for making the show happen.

“Throwback Sessions” was held at the Fortune Sounds Club on August 27 with other performers Raffy Swap One, Danger Blanket, and Audrey Rose. REPORTS FROM CHRISTIAN CUNANAN, VANCOUVER SENIOR CORRESPONDENT
