Learning history can be daunting at times since it requires earnest exploration before one can fully understand the challenges and successes of the past. One effective way to do this is through reliving pivotal stories through fun and interactive efforts.

Learning history can be daunting at times since it requires earnest exploration before one can fully understand the challenges and successes of the past. One effective way to do this is through reliving pivotal stories through fun and interactive efforts.

This is the impetus of a novel undertaking by Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar, which officially kicked off this August. The popular destination in Bagac, Bataan now offers the Historyland experience which brings to life iconic Filipino characters who had pivotal roles in the nation’s narrative. This project is the heritage hotel’s newest attraction, which aims to promote the country’s rich heritage while honoring our forefathers’ undeniable bravery.

Travel back to the most important events in Philippine history through Las Casas’ Historyland as listed below.

The Battle of Mactan. Travel back to 1521 when Filipinos first fought against the Spaniards, one of the world’s most powerful nations at that time. Mighty Lapu Lapu, Mactan Island’s chieftain, believed in sovereignty and defended it to the colonizers. Expect to see the death of Ferdinand Magellan and feel patriotism run through our blood and veins.

Execution of Jose Rizal. Philippine National Hero Jose Rizal lived his entire life to ignite change and inspire his countrymen. Though unjustly cut short, his efforts to spark peaceful revolution with the might of his pen resulted to the freedom every Filipino enjoys today. Learn more about our National Hero’s contribution to the society and its continuing impact on the present and future.

The Cry of Pugad Lawin. The historical tearing of cedulas is often overlooked in the story of the Philippines. Discover the significance of this moment under the leadership of the supremo Andres Bonifacio, which ignited the Filipinos‘ courage to fight for country.

Creating the Philippine Flag. To learn the depth of every symbolism in our flag requires thorough understanding. Each color represents a Filipino trait, creating a momentous design, which greatly speaks of the collective stories of our ancestors. In fact, the Philippine flag we have today underwent many revisions so that HistoryLand will give visitors the opportunity to immerse themselves in the making of this authentic Filipino symbol.

Fight for Philippine Independence. A long and arduous battle, our forefathers’ fight for the country’s ultimate independence is a part of history we are all very eager to unravel. Experience it live at the country’s first ever history amusement park.

 

Ambiance actors. Take pictures with El Katipuneros, Sisa, General Luna, Maria Clara and Friars, and learn a thing or two from these icons in history.

Parade of history. This is the main highlight Historyland — a once in a lifetime with the country’s historical figures in a 30-minute meet and greet. Heroes come to life will walk through Las Casas in a parade that is both exciting and inspieing.

Located at the heart of Bagac, Bataan, Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar is a world-class and one of a kind Philippine destination that showcases the best of Filipino heritage and culture through colorful stories retold by owner Jose “Jerry” Acuzar’s collection of restored Spanish-Filipino houses.
