19 July 2016 - MANILA: Mario Sismundo, who will fight on July 30 for the World Series of Fighting Global Championship 3: Philippines vs. the World card at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, says that he is more than just Manny Pacquiao’s doppelgänger.
Mario, who once doubled for Manny Pacquiao for a TV commercial, and also hails from General Santos City, also has plans of his own to be a world-renowned fighter.
The resemblance is striking, in fact, when he trains at Fitbox Gym in Makati, he is often mistaken as Manny Pacquiao.
This will be Mario Sismundo’s biggest fight in his entire boxing and MMA career, fighting for the first time in a 15,000-seater stadium in Quezon City, alongside fighters from all over the world.
Sismundo says that his family, specially his father, has been supportive of his career all this time.
It is bittersweet though that at the biggest fight of his life, wherein his fight will be the co-main event on July 30, that his father won’t be able to watch it since he passed away just weeks ago.

Conor McGregor was already sitting on top of the mixed martial arts (MMA) world before knocking out Eddie Alvarez in the main event of UFC 205 last weekend (Sat., Nov. 12, 2016) to claim the lightweight title; becoming the only man to hold two division titles simultaneously.
The WWE is looking to capitalize on the hype around Conor McGregor vs. Floyd Mayweather by getting the two men on their television programming.
When the boxing match between Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather finally came to fruition, a lot of fans who don’t like the idea of it compared the whole idea to something that would happen in pro wrestling. So it should come as no surprise that the WWE is looking to get involved in the promotion of the August 26th bout as well.

The number-one contender to the UFC middleweight title has opened as a large favorite over the current champ.
At this time last week, the UFC’s middleweight division was effectively stalled by a proposed fight between 185-pound champion Michael Bisping and the returning Georges St-Pierre. When GSP tried to delay the fight until November (or later), UFC president Dana White finally stepped in and took St-Pierre’s shot at the title away. Enter Yoel Romero.
In the war of pre-fight banter, Yoel Romero just went nuclear.
Sometimes all it takes for a fighter to become inspired is the right foil. For Anderson Silva it was Chael Sonnen, for Ronda Rousey it was Miesha Tate, for Conor McGregor it’s been just about everyone. And now it seems that Michael Bisping has sparked inspiration in Yoel Romero. The former Olympic silver medalist is tentatively scheduled to be the next title challenger for Bisping’s UFC middleweight title, following his November win over former champ Chris Weidman.

ONE Championship welterweight contender Zebaztian “The Bandit” Kadestam might have been born and raised in Stockholm, Sweden, but he found his second home 5,792 miles away from his birthplace.
With a professional record of nine wins and three losses, Kadestam believes that the well-established mixed martial arts scene in the Philippines played a pivotal role in his career and to where he is presently.
