Jillian Cait Micarsos ( 7 yrs.old) , Jewelle Anascio ( 7 yrs.old), Tyrone James Tabernilla ( 11 yrs.old) and Mia Michaela Rigo ( 15 yrs.old), student of Academia de Julia Victoria will banner a eight-man Imus squad that will compete in the Pattaya Chess Club Open 2019 slated from October 19 to 24 in Pattaya, Thailand.

Calling the shots for the Imus team is City of Imus Chess Association founding president coach Assi Legaspi Bagaipo,Cavite Delegation Head coach Ederwin Estavillo and Academia de Julia Victoria coach Israel "Ice" Landicho backed up by City of Imus Chess Association founding chairman mayor Emmanuel Leonardo Maliksi, Cavite 3rd District Representative Alex "AA" Advincula and Vice Mayor Arnel "Ony" Cantibuhan.

Other member of the Imus team also supported by the Philippine Sports Commission through National Chess Federation of the Philippines deputy-secretary general and executive director FA Red Dumuk are Lovelyn Sarcilla (15 yrs. old, Gen. Tomas Mascardo National High School ), Lorenz Diaz (12 yrs. old, La Trinidad Academy ), Rei Vincent Cayabyab (11 yrs. old, Saint Edward) and Enriche Nalundasan (12 yrs. old, Saint Edward).

Imus Chess Association founding president coach Assi Legaspi Bagaipo yesterday said they are ready for the showdown and are geared to showcase their chess skills.

“We know we have a huge task to prove our capabilities at Pattaya, Thailand chess meet. However, we have a young squad that is hungry for success and eager to market themselves through this tournament. A win will boost our morale and we are fully prepared for the Pattaya chess meet,” he said.

Cavite Delegation Head coach Ederwin Estavillo added “I am confident that we are not going to just add numbers, but to compete,”
