Meycauayan,Bulacan---Mira Angel Maquirang of Trinitas College swept all five matches on the way to ruling the elementary girls division of the Meycauayan Private School Association (MeyCipriSa) chess tournament 2019 held recently at St. Mary's Academy of Sto. Niño here.
Maquirang emerged as the unblemished record among the participants in the one-day tournament organized by MeyCipriSa in cooperation wih FA Ricky Navalta of the Diwa Learning Systems Inc. and Tournament Director Mr. Denlee Magtalas.
Clarisse Joy Galletta of Metamorphosis School Inc. placed second with four points, while Trinitas College bet Jacinta Rhyah Marie Castro is at third with 3.0 points.
Angel Raphael Regalado of Nazarenus College and Hospital Foundation Inc., meanwhile ruled the elementary boys side with undefeated record 5.0 points.
Aaron Christian Chuaquico of Metamorphosis Inc. and Mark Jade De Guzman of The Cardinal Academy who had 3.5 points apiece, finished second and third, respectively.
In the secondary girls side, Andrealene Martin of Meycauyan College had a superior tiebreak score to grab first place, with Jualianne Martin of Meycauyan College and Riazel Zuniga of San Isidro San Roque Academy settling for second and third, respectively. All three had four points after five rounds.
In the secondary boys, Piolo Dela Cruz of Meycauayan College (4.5 points) beat John Mervin Mallari of Meycauayan College (4.5 points) in the tie break points to grab first place. Mallari settled for second, while Jason Gabrielle Lim of Nazarenus College and Hospital Foundation Inc. placed third with four points.-Marlon Bernardino-
