by Marlon Bernardino THE Philippines’ youngest Woman Fide Master (WFM) 45th seed Antonella Berthe “Tonelle” Murillo Racasa (elo1380) upset 10th seed Katerina Braeutigam (elo 1808) of Germany to grab her second straight win in Under-12 girls’ division event of the World Cadet Chess Championships being held at the Yujing Hotel in Weifang, Shandong, China on Sunday.

The 12-year-old student of Home School Global bet Racasa prevailed after 31 pushes of London System Opening using the white pieces to raise her score to 3.5 points in five outings. She was tied at 14th to 22nd placers that includes 15th seed Kate Yuhua Jing (elo1671) of Canada, her sixth round opponent.

"Big upset win for Antonella Berthe. She waylaid the 10th seed Katerina Braeutigam of Germany. Their rating difference is a whopping 428 points! Thank you Lord."said father/coach Roberto Racasa, also an International Memory champion, dubbed as the founder and father of Memory Sports in the Philippines.
