Siblings Prince and Oshrie Jhames "OJ" Constantino Reyes leads the early entries for the 1st International Master (IM) Joel "Cholo" Banawa Kiddies 14 Years old and below Rapid Chess Championship set on September 1 at the Open Kitchen, Rockwell Business Center-Sheridan, Highwayhills, Greenfield District in Mandaluyong City.

Four (4) years old Prince, a nursery pupil of EZEE Nursery School in Sta. Rita, Pampanga and Eight (8) years old Oshrie Jhames, a Grade 3 pupil of GMC Montessory in Guagua, Pampanga, both in a rigid training with Ricard Copones and Genghis Katipunan Imperial.

The one-day event is being held to commemorate the late International Master (IM) Rolly Martinez according to US based International Master (IM) Joel "Cholo" Banawa of Rising Phoenix Chess Academy. It also supported by China Aurelio, Mimi Casas and John Gomez of Open Kitchen, Jeffrey Dimalanta and Arturo Turbanada Jr.

At stake is a total pot of P19,000 with the champion pocketing the prize of P5,000 plus a trophy and a medal.

The second placer will get P3,000 plus a medal, the third placer will pocket P2,000 plus a trophy while the fourth and fifth placer will bring home P1,000 each plus a medals.

Sixth to 15th placer will also likewise to receive P500 each plus a medals alongside for the Top Under 6, Top Under 8, Top Under 10 and Top Under 12 class.

Tournament Registration fee is P500 (on or before August 30, 2019) while On-Site Registration fee is P600. No Pooling of prizes.

Other entries include 9 years old Bonjoure Fille Suyamin, a Grade 4 pupil of Del Rosario Christian Institute; 12 years old Geraldine Mae Camarines, a Grade 7 student of Bethel Academy School and 13 years old Janmyl Dilan Tisado, a Grade 9 student of Academy of Saint John - La Salle Greenhills Supervised from General Trias City, Cavite as well 12 years old Alfred Miranda Jr., a Grade 7 student of Eduardo Cojuangco National Vocational High School and 14 years old Alanice Nicole Miranda, a Grade 8 student of Eduardo Cojuangco National Vocational High School from Paniqui, Tarlac.

Chief arbiter is FNA Alexander "Alex" Dinoy while Deputy Arbiter is NA Alfredo Chay of the Chess Arbiter Union of the Philippines.
