HE 1st Ahedres Pilipinas Chess Team Tournament gets going on Sunday are moving to the third floor Alphaland Southgate Mall, Near MRT Magallanes Station, Edsa, Makati City.

Ahedres Pilipinas Team bared on Friday instead the original venue of Dapitan Sports Complex | Instruccion St, Sampaloc, Manila.

"Due to the 2019 Election, Dapitan Sports Complex will not be able to accommodate us on the day of the event. Comelec will be using the venue on May 12, 2019. As much as we wanted to keep the original plan, there is nothing we can do. Dapitan Sports Complex is a government-property and the government reserves all the rights to use the space in any given situation. We were informed three days prior to the date of the event. We understand the frustration and we sincerely do apologize for the very short notice and the inconvenience this may have caused.That being said, we will be holding the 1st Ahedres Pilipinas Chess Team Tournament in the Alphaland Southgate Mall, 3rd Floor, Magallanes (2258 Chino Roces Ave, Makati, Metro Manila, Philippines). Please kindly do spread the word. We hope to see you there and thank you for all your support to make this happen. Special thanks to Sir Alexander E. Dinoy for helping us find a new location given the time constraints." Ahedres Pilipinas Team headed by former World Chess Olympiad member Woman National Master Christy Lamiel Bernales, National Master Marc Christian Nazario and Christian Anthony Flores.

It is a seven round Swiss system, 25mins + 5sec delay time control format.

The team champion will earn P30,000 plus a trophy. The second placer will get P20,000, third P12,000, fourth P8,000 and fifth P5,000.

Category prizes P2,500 each is up for grabs for the Top High School Team, Top College Team, Top Women's Team, Top Manila, Top Company and Top Government. (At least 3 teams per category)
