Two-time Olympiad veteran International Master (IM) Chito Garma defeated Isagani "Fischer" Ramos to capture the title in the blitz five minutes play to finish time control mode, six player's field, double round-robin format Friday night, March 1, 2019 in Marikina City.

The former University of Manila (UM) stand-out Garma played aggressively to beat Ramos and win the match 2-0.

True to his style of aggressive play, Garma chose sharp, complex and tactical systems in the opening to win all of his games.

He scored a perfect ten-out-of-ten to win the one day event hosted by sportsman and Marikina City councilor Thaddeus Antonio "Boy Bolok" Santos Jr.

His other victims that includes Santos (2-0), Filipino National Master and United States chess master Almario Marlon Bernardino Jr. (2-0), World's First Fide Master Adrian Ros Pacis (2-0) and Edgar "Bote" Bautista (2-0).

Bernardino came in second place with 6.5 points followed by third place Pacis with 6.0 points and fourth place Santos with 3.5 points. Fifth to sixth placers with 2.0 points apiece are Ramos and Bautista.
