THE battle of wits unfurls Sunday, October 28, 2018 as the one-day 3rd Carlsen Kasparov Chess Club's Weekly Open Rapid Chess Tournament dubbed as Imus Open Rapid Chess Championship opens at nine a.m. at the City Mall along Aguinaldo Highway in Imus, Cavite.

The rapid event will feature two division tournament, an Open division and Kiddies under 12 and 1900 limit rating category.

According to tournament director Priscilla "Ella" Tindero of the organizing Canon Carlsen Kasparov Chess Club that cash prizes await winners with the champion in the Open division going home with P10,000 and a medal while the Kiddies top notcher will receive P2,000 and a medal.

The Chess Circle Tatlohan 2000 and below begins on Sunday at the 3rd floor, Alphaland Southgate Mall, Edsa corner Chino Roces Avenue, Makati City.

According to tournament organizer Leonardo Jimenez, P25,000 offers to the winning team while the rest of the top 8 will bring home P15,000, P10,000, P6,000, P2,000 respectively.

The Gumaca Open Chess Tournament 2018 is gets underway on Sunday at the Development Training Center in Gumaca, Open.
Tournament organizer Janglie Lita said the champion will receive P10,000 and a trophy while the rest of the top top will going home P7,000, P5,000, P3,000, P2,000 and P1,000, respectively. Call or text Janglie Lita at 0916-848-6274.
