International Billiards and Snooker Champion Marlon "Marvelous" Manalo congratulate Chess Master Marlon Bernardino Jr. for winning the Singapore Open Blitz Chess Championships dubbed as Pub Chess Week 36 held at The Black Sheep in Jalan Besar in Singapore last September 8, 2018.

The 41-years-old Bernardino whose stint in Singapore is being supported by Manalo collected eight points on seven wins and two draws to win the single-round robin, blitz chess tournament in the one day event organized by Pubxchess led by Carleton Lim to enroute the coveted title.

The 2005 Virginia, USA Rapid Open champion Bernardino is one of the top players of the multi-titled State Colleges and Universities Athletic Association-National Capital Region (SCUAA-NCR) champion Barangay Malamig Rizal Technological University Chess Team in the mid 90's paid a courtesy call to Manalo last Wednesday at Barangay Malamig office.

Bernardino is also co-champion in the Moon Cake Rapid Open Chess Championships last September 9, 2018 at the Bukit Timah Shopping Centre in Singapore.

International Master elect Edgar Reggie Olay dominated the Open competition after edging Bernardino in a tie break points.
