THE Philippine National Police (PNP) chess team seeks revenge against the powerhouse of Philippine Army Chess Team when the first-ever Philippine Chess Blitz Online Face Off Series Team Competition format gets underway on Saturday, May 19, 2018.

According to tournament organizer Philippine Executive Chess Association (PECA) founding president Atty. Cliburn Anthony A. Orbe that all blitz chess format game simultaneously can be watch live and replay at Facebook and YouTube channel of the National Chess Federation of the Philippines (NCFP) at 10 am Saturday , May 19, 2018 in the event supported by NCFP Chairman/President Surigao del Sur Rep. Prospero "Butch" Arreza Pichay Jr.

"I will broadcast a AFP-PNP-PCG league match-up between the Philippine Army chess team Philippine National Police chess team." said NCFP treasurer Atty. Cliburn Anthony A. Orbe.

Under the guidance of coach SPO3 Jomar Pascua, the PNP chess team will field 1996 Philippine Junior Champion National Master PO2 Rolando Andador, National Master SPO2 Ali Branzuela, PO1 Danilo Tiempo and PO3 Jerry Tolentino, a formidable line-up indeed.
"This will be an exciting friendly match between two powerhouse teams in the AFP-PNP-PCG Olympics. Expect fireworks on the board," said PNP chess team coach SPO3 Jomar Pascua.

PNP chess team lost to Philippine Army Chess Team in the last edition of the AFP-PNP-PCG Olympics in 2016 held at the Camp Crame in Quezon City. Philippine Airforce chess team won the title, followed by runner-up place Philippine Army Chess Team and 3rd place Philippine National Police chess team.

The Philippine Army chess team will be manned by International Masters Ronald Dableo and Joel Pimentel, Kevin Arquero and Alfred Rapanot and playing under the baton of coach Ildefonso "Ponching" Datu.
