NATIONAL MASTER (NM) Ali Branzuela continued his winning streak in the three minutes, two seconds increment blitz chess format, as he emerged the overall champion in the
"J Store" blitz chess challenge on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at the Chess Training Headquarters in San Juan.
The former Lyceum of the Philippines University (LPU)-Manila standout Branzuela, one of the top players of Philippine National Police (PNP), collected 7.5 points on seven wins, two loses and a draw to win the single round-robin tournament backed up by The "J" Store, Dra.  Jenica Anne Marie Josue, Jomar Bernales and OFW engineer Joseph Galindo.
He bested fellow 7.5 pointers National Master Julius Sinangote in a tie break points to secure the coveted title.
The San Juan City resident Branzuela now has 3 blitz chess titles which he won in a span of a month. Earlier, Branzuela also won last January 5, 2018 and January 20, 2018.
Former World Chess Olympiad member Woman National Master (WNM) Christy Lamiel Bernales (7.0 points) came third followed by fourth-place National Master (NM) Nick Nisperos (6.5 points) and fifth-place untitled Genghis Katipunan Imperial (6.5 points).-Marlon Bernardino-
