ALJI CANTONJOS,  a  sophomore financial management student of Adamson University is the 2nd leg champion of the just ended prestigious National Master Engineer Robert Arellano Chess Cup over the weekend at the famous Chess Training headquarters in Asinas Street, San Juan.

Alji, son of National Master Allan Cantonjos, who hails from Gingoog City, Misamis, Oriental tallied 9.5 points to nailed the title.

National Master Romeo Alcodia of Baras, Rizal came second with 8.5 points while first-leg champion National Master Julius Sinangote of Quezon City landed at 3rd place with 7.5 points.

Rounding up to the top 11 places were 4th Paul Anthony Sanchez (7.0 points), 5th NM Ali Branzuela (6.5 points), 6th Genghis Imperial (6.0 points), 7th John Lee Antonio (5.5 points), 8th Norvin Gravillo (5.5 points)  9th Ricardo Jimenez (5.0 points), 10th Prince Sanguan (5.0 points) and 11th place WNM Christy Lamiel Bernales (5.0 points).

In the final round, Cantonjos defeated John Paul Aquino, Alcodia nipped Ricardo Jimenez while Sinangote halved the point with Genghis Imperial.

Adjudged catagory winners were Ricardo Jimenez (Top 2100 below ) Prince Sanguan (Top 2000 below) and Jeremias Ygot (Top 1900 below).-Marlon Bernardino-

SI ALJI CANTONJOS,  ang  sophomore financial management student ng Adamson University ang tinanghal na 2nd leg champion sa katatapos na prestigious National Master Engineer Robert Arellano Chess Cup nitong weekend sa famous Chess Training headquarters sa Asinas Street, San Juan.

Si Alji, anak ni National Master Allan Cantonjos mula Gingoog City, Misamis, Oriental ay nakapagtala ng 9.5 puntos tungo sa titulo.

Tumapos sa ika-2 puwesto si National Master Romeo Alcodia ng Baras, Rizal na may nakamadang 8.5 puntos habang si first-leg champion National Master Julius Sinangote ng Quezon City ay nagkasya sa ika-3 puwesto na may 7.5 puntos.
