IMUS, CAVITE---Panalo ang Mind Power Chess Team sa last two rounds para makopo ang team rapid title at maging matagumpay ang kampanya sa GM Eugene Torre FIDE Rapid Seniors Chess Team Tournament na ginanap sa Robinson Townville Buhay na Tubig Branch Linggo, Marso 26, 2023.

Naitala ng Mind Power Chess Team ang dobleng 2.5-0.5 na panalo Zugzwang Knights Kimurs at Team Balinas sa fifth , sixth at final rounds, ayon sa pagkakasunod tungo sa 14.0 points at angatan ang 11 pang squads tungo sa top pot 20,000 PHP plus Perpetual Trophy.

Ang Mind Power Chess Team na binubuo nina International Master Angelo Abundo Young, Roberto Biron at Gary Legaspi ay nakamit ang team rapid crown sa event na inorganisa ng Inter-Agency Chess Group at sanctioned ng National Chess Federation of the Philippines.
"This was a tough tournament but we are proud and grateful that we will be bringing home honors for our squad," sabi ni Young na 8-time Illinois USA Champion.
"It was truly a team effort on our part. Everybody did his share in winning the rapid championship," ani Young an nag over-all eight place finish sa +50 division ng 2019 World Seniors Chess Championships sa Bucharest, Romania.
Sa round 5 ay sina Young at Legaspi ang napalaban ng husto sa Mind Power Chess Team tungo sa panalo kontra sa highly touted rivals.
Giniba ni Young si International Master Chito Garma sa board 1 Habang panalo si Legaspi kay Eugene Trasfiero sa board 3. Nagtabla sina Biron at Jerry Areque sa board 2.
Sa isang banda ay sina Biron at Legaspi ang bayani sa the Mind Power Chess Team na tinalo ang powerhouse Team Balinas sa round 6.
Pinasuko ni Biron si Rodolfo "Jun" Panopio Jr. habang winasiwas naman ni Legaspi si Ronnie Sebastian.
Tabla naman si Young kay Grandmaster Rogelio "Joey" Antonio Jr. sa top board.
Suportado ni Atty. Rodolfo Enrique Rivera, ang RG Warriors na nirendahan naman nina National Master Edmundo Gatus, Dennis San Juan at Primitivo Virtudazo ay  tumapos ng runner up finish tungo sa 13.5 points total output para maiuwi ang runner-up purse 10,000 PHP.
Tabla ang RG Warriors sa Cavite Knights, 1.5-1.5, sa Round 5 kasunod ng pang bokya sa Senior Incontrovertible, 3-0, sa Round 6.
Kontra sa Cavite Knights ay tabla si Gatus kay International Master Barlo Nadera sa board 1 habang binigo ni San Juan si Eduardo Tunguia sa board 2.
Natalo naman si Virtudazo kay Alfred Jumanan sa board 3.
Kontra sa Senior Incontrovertible ang tro nina Gatus, San Juan at Virtudazo ay winasiwas sina Anthony Avellanada, Agrifino Camposano at Esmael Abas, ayon sa pagkakasunod
Samantala ay naibulsa ni IM Garma ang top honors sa blitz individual event.
Ang Tondo, Manila native IM Garma ay naka kolekta ng six points sa six outings para maiuwi ang 1,500 PHP plus trophy.
Kabilang sa mga tinalo ni Garma ay sina Queen Angelus Dacallos sa first round, Biron sa second round, Vincent Paolo Constantino sa third round, IM Young sa fourth round, IM Nadera sa fifth round at GM Antonio sa sixth at final round.-Marlon Bernardino-
