TAGAYTAY CITY---Nagparamdam agad ng lakas sina Woman National Master Antonella Berthe "Tonelle" Racasa at Jersey Marticio sa pagbubukas ng Vice Governor Athena Bryana D. Tolentino National Age Group Chess Championships Eliminations U16 Girls Biyernes na ginanap Tagaytay International Convention Center dito.


Giniba ni Racasa si Irish Nicole Caspe habang wagi si Marticio kay Gabrielle Bacasmas.
"I'm so happy to hurdle my first round assignment," sabi ni Racasa na student ng Victory Christian International School.
"We hope to perform well in this event and gain some Elo rating points," sambit naman ni Marticio na ipinagmamalaki naman ng Cabuyao City, Laguna.
Nagbigay naman ng pahayag si Robert Racasa, father-coach ni Tonelle: "The first round is one of the toughest rounds in any tournament. It usually sets the tone of how you’re going to perform.”
Panalo din sa Round 1 ay sina Kate Nicole Ordizo, Daren dela Cruz at Arleah Cassandra Sapuan.
Tinalo ni Ordizo si Jeralee Gisele Ebdani, wagi si dela Cruz kay Frank Stephanie Engles at pinayuko ni Sapuan si Hilary Garcia.
Ang iba pang first round winners ay sina Geraldine Mae Camarines, Yaneah Sofia Morada, Sara Dalagan, Maryss Annxeniel Caldoza, Shaniah Francine Tamayo at Kayla Lorraine Aurelio.-Marlon Bernardino-
