MANILA---The Bayanihan Chess Club will hold a free registration simultaneous chess exhibition on Friday, November 19, 2021, 1pm Manila Time at Planas Site Covered Court, Barangay Kaunlaran, Cubao, Quezon City.
13-times Philippine Open Champion Grandmaster Rogelio "Joey" Antonio Jr. will conduct the 10-board simultaneous chess exhibition matches to challenge Quezon City Fourth District resident woodpushers problem solving abilities, critical and strategic thinking.


“We do this to promote chess in the grassroots level,” said Antonio, who has been the long-time vanguard of Philippine chess alongside Asia's First Grandmaster Eugene Torre and the late Grandmaster and Attorney Rosendo Carreon Balinas Jr.
Lawyer Rudy Rivera together with Bayanihan Chess Club president NM Marlon Bernardino and Mr. Jun Dordas organized the said chessfest, hosted by Quezon City fourth district councilor Janet "Babes" Malaya in close cooperation with Barangay Kaunlaran Chairman Christopher "Dong" Cheng, Mam Sarah Pascual Austria and Barkadahan Para sa Bansa Party List headed by Atty. Nolan V. Banda and National Campaign Manager Dr. Ariel B. Potot
"This will be a great opportunity for Quezon City Fourth District resident, even young players, to play with GM Antonio," Lawyer Rudy Rivera said.
Antonio along with Mayor Joy Belmonte, councilor Malaya will lead the opening rites set at 12:30 p.m.-Marlon Bernardino-
