Vargas’ trainer, former cruiserweight Dewey Cooper, says he was “born handsome, inside and out.” Cooper has a Filipina girlfriend and will be coming to the Philippines in December.
Former Featherweight champion Michael Farenas jokes that he does not have a girlfriend because many girls will be broken-hearted.
Former WBO Asia Pacific lightweight champ Bobby “The Sniper” Pacquiao considers himself a “heartthrob,” while Philstar online editor Dino remarks, “Basta Pinoy, sweet lover.”
