Shakur Stevenson and Joshua Greer Jr. Give Back to Local Children in Newark

NEWARK, N.J. (July 10, 2019) — Featherweight contender Shakur Stevenson, born and raised in Newark and preparing for his professional homecoming, returned to where it all began. Stevenson, along with bantamweight contender Joshua Greer Jr. visited more than 100 local children at Boylan Street Recreation Center on Wednesday afternoon.

Stevenson and Greer showed the children boxing fundamentals, signed autographs and talked about their respective journeys to pugilistic prominence.

Stevenson (11-0, 6 KOs) will face Alberto Guevara (27-4, 12 KOs) in the 10-round main event Saturday evening, while Greer (20-1-1, 12 KOs) will face off against Nikolai Potapov in a 12-round IBF bantamweight eliminator for the No. 2 ranking.

Stevenson-Guevara and Greer-Potapov will be televised live on ESPN and ESPN Deportes beginning at 10:30 p.m. ET/7:30 p.m. PT.

The entire undercard will stream live on ESPN+ — the industry-leading sports streaming service — starting at 7 p.m. ET.
