Demetrius Andrade says the Charlo brothers looked poor in their recent fights last December, and Gennady Golovkin shouldn’t be getting an immediate trilogy fight against Saul Canelo Alvarez in September after the two fought each other twice already. Canelo-GGG wasn’t an exciting enough fight for there to be a third one, according to Andrade.

It’s perceived by many fan that Andrade has been ignored by Canelo, Danny Jacobs and Golovkin. They’ve not shown interest in fighting the 2012 U.S Olympian Andrade. Now that Andrade is with DAZN, he’s hoping that Canelo, Golovkin and Jacobs will all be forced to fight him.

Andrade wants to have Golovkin fight himself and/or Daniel Jacobs BEFORE he can fight Canelo in a trilogy fight. In other words, Andrade wants Golovkin (38-1-1, 34 KOs), who he feels has a weak resume, to have to earn the third fight against Canelo Alvarez (51-1-2, 35 KOs) before they face each other again.

WBO middleweight champion Andrade (27-0, 17 KOs) will be fighting his WBO mandatory Maciej Sulecki next on either June 22 or 29th in Providence, Rhode Island. After that fight, which Andrade believes he’ll win, he says he wants Canelo or Golovkin.. Andrade says Canelo will need to come to him in September if he wants to capture his World Boxing Organization belt, which will be the last remaining title not in Canelo’s possession if he defeats IBF champion Daniel Jacobs (35-2, 29 KOs) in their fight on May 4 on DAZN at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

“Right now, it’s [Maciej] Sulecki, because he’s my mandatory. After that, it’s going to be GGG, and then Canelo,” Andrade said to Fighthype in talking about his upcoming schedule of fights. “If not Canelo; he’s talking about that he wants to unify the [middleweight] division, right? September, if you want that last belt, you’ve got to come this way. So my job is to fight whoever I need to fight, and then just worry about Canelo after that. I can’t worry about anybody else. Canelo is, I’m not going to say anything bad about him now. He is finally stepping up to the plate and fighting these guys. At the same time, Danny Jacobs fought Derevyanchenko. That was a hard fight. He got in there with GGG and show, ‘I’m ready to fight, and I’m ready to fight the top guys,’ so that’s good for the middleweight division right now. It’s great that Canelo and his team are pushing him now to get in with the top guys,”Andrade said.

Andrade, 31, isn’t saying anything bad about Canelo right now. He’s saying all of his negative comments towards Golovkin, Jermall Charlo and Jermell Charlo. It looks like ANdrade doesn’t want to upset Canelo Alvarez and his promoters at Golden Boy Promotions for fear that they’ll put him on permanent ignore, and then he’ll never get a fight against the popular Mexican star. If Canelo loses to Jacobs next month in their fight on the 4th of May, that could derail Andrade’s chances of ever fighting the Mexican star as well. But it’s possible Andrade would still get a fight against Canelo eventually, because he’s signed with DAZN for the next five years, and there’s only so many top middleweights that the streaming company has signed with them. DAZN has Jacobs, Golovkin, David Lemieux, Andrade and Canelo. That’s only five fighters. That means Andrade has a very good chance of fighting all of those guys at some point. Whether things will turn out good for Andrade when he does eventually fight those fighters is the big question. He might lose to some or even all of them, and his will career will implode.

“GGG thinks just because he’s had two fights [with Canelo Alvarez], he should get a third fight,” Andrade said. “That was no Mickey Ward and [Arturo] Gatti type fight. That was not close to that. So why do we need to see a third one? If you want to make that happen [Canelo vs. Golovkin 3], you’ve got Danny Jacobs, and you’ve got Demetrius Andrade. People got to be able to fight each other instead of just GGG and Canelo. you want to see it again? I don’t want to see that s— again,” Andrade said.

Canelo and Golovkin fighting each other a third time is all about them giving DAZN the fight that they want to see. A third between the two popular middleweights will bring in a lot of subscribers to DAZN. Andrade on a personal level might not want to see Canelo and Triple G fight each other in a trilogy match-up next September, but the casual boxing fans, DAZN and the hardcore fans want to see the fight. It’ll bring in the subscibers to DAZN like nothing else. The streaming company isn’t paying those two middleweight stars huge nine-figure contracts just to see them fight Andrade and Daniel Jacobs. They want to see them fight each other.

“I don’t want to say I’m free, because I do have my mandatory Sulecki,” Andrade said. “Until that’s done, I can go on an fight whoever after that.”

Sulecki, 29, is going to be a tough fight for Andrade in June. Andrade might lose to Sulecki. The Polish fighter did a better job beating Jack Culcay than Andrade did. Styles make fights, but you can’t rule out an upset in the Andrade vs. Sulecki fight.

“But who else has GGG actually fought [other than Canelo]?” Andrade said. “I could say David Lemieux, Curtis Stevens, Gabriel Rosado. What has GGG actually fought of the top guys? Like who? Canelo is young. Now he’s become a man. It makes sense. I’m just saying. GGG hasn’t really been fighting anybody that’s a top guy. He fought Danny Jacobs. Did he knock him out? No. A lot of people thought Danny Jacobs won. It just goes to show you that when you start fighting the skilled guys, the elite guys, you’re not the knockout artist you used to be,” Andrade said.

Golovkin has fought Canelo twice, Daniel Jacobs, David Lemieux, Daniel Geale, Kassim Ouma [when he was in his prime], Vanes Martirosyan, Gabriel Rosado, Willie Monroe Jr., Curtis Stevens, Martin Murray, Matthew Macklin, Dominic Wade, Nobuhiro Ishida, Marco Antonio Rubio, Grzegorz Proksa, Siarhei Khamitski and Mehdi Bouadla. A lot of those fighters are former contenders in the middleweight division. Most of them aren’t relevant now in this era, but years ago, a lot of them were top fighters. Andrade has wins over Martirosyan, who was beaten decisively by GGG last year in May in a second round knockout loss, Jack Culcay, Artur Akavov, Alantez Fox, Willie Nelson, Brian Rose, Walter Kautondokwa, Dario Fabian Pucheta and Freddy Hernandez. Andrade’s 11-year resume is obviously considerably weaker than Golovkin’s.

“Now I came up and put on those pounds, and I’m ready to go,” Andrade said. “Listen, whoever I can get in the ring with. I’m not afraid of anybody. I’ve been calling people out. I’ve been knocking on doors. You guys trying to sweep me under the rug like that,” Andrade said.

It’s unlikely that Andrade will get a fight against Canelo Alvarez or GGG in 2019, because those guys are almost surely going to be facing each other in a trilogy match-up in September. If Jacobs loses to Canelo on May 4, then a fight between him and Adrade would be a good one for later this year. Once Jacobs loses his IBF title, he’ll gladly fight Andrade for his WBO belt towards the end of the year. It would be a good idea for Andrade to take that fight with Jacobs if he can get it.

“When I watched it [Tony Harrison vs. Jermell Charlo fight], Harrison looked like the more professional fighter,” said Andrade. “His [Jermell Charlo] stance was all over the place, Charlo or whatever his name is. He was just sloppy. His timing wasn’t right. He was just trying for a one-hitta quitta. It just looked like Tony Harrison was the more professional righter in there that night, and he was countering him with a jab. And the big one [Jermall Charlo] got hit with left hands all night [by Matt Korobov]. Let me hit him with one of those,” Andrade said about Jermall Charlo.

As you can tell, there’s no love lost between Andrade and the Charlo brothers. The Charlo brothers and Andrade have trash talked each other for a long time now. Now that Andrade is once again fighting in the same division as Jermall, it would be nice if the two face each other at some point. However, with Andrade fighting on DAZN and Jermall on premier Boxing Champions on Showtime, a fight between them is unlikely to ever happen.
