Chris Eubank Jr has branded WBO world middleweight champion Billy Joe Saunders "a boring fighter" and demanded a rematch.

Saunders (23-0-KO12) was recently engaged in a social media back-and-forth with Eubank Jr's father, Chris Eubank, during which he offered an 80-20 per cent split for a repeat of their controversial November 2014 bout.

Now Eubank Jr, who was on the wrong end of a split decision that night in London, has told Sky Sports: "With that type of talk, as far as I understand he's trying to price himself out of the fight. He knows 80-20 will never happen.

"He can talk a good game but he's very boring in the ring. I think he's an extremely boring fighter. He's boring to watch. He steals fights and does the bare minimum in my opinion. His boxing style is not exciting.

"How many times has he fought in the last year? He's got a world title belt and he's not active. It's embarrassing. He does all his fighting on social media."

The Brighton man (23-1-KO18) is currently preparing to defend his British crown for a second time when he takes on Tommy Langford on October 22 - but as he continues to hunt a step-up to world level, has reiterated his belief that a second clash with Saunders is inevitable.

He said: "It has to happen. There's too much history, rivalry and bad blood. There's been too much talk. The public are demanding it and I've been saying for it for the longest time now.

"I don't know why he's talking about 80-20. He's not the draw. He has the world title but I'm the draw. Without me, nobody cares about who he's fighting. I'm the only guy people want to see him fight.

"50-50 is fine with me. I'll take that. I'm not greedy and he is. He knows this is the only fight he'll be able to get a pay-day from because nobody wants to watch him fight because he's boring.

"He knows he needs to make as much money as possible from this one because he's not going to get paid again after this - especially after he loses, and he knows that's coming because he knows last time was a fluke of luck.

"Saunders didn't beat me. I wasn't battered or shown-up. I made the mistake of not pressing him early, pacing myself too much because it was my first 12-round fight. Once I was out of that mode it was no competition and it's not happened since then.

"He knows he wouldn't be able to stay with me if that rematch happens."

Eubank Jr, who recently saw talks over a lucrative clash with Gennady Golovkin fall through, won the British title by stopping Nick Blackwell in the 10th round in March.
