Dillian Whyte put David Allen to the sword with a shutout points victory in Leeds to win the WBC International heavyweight title.
The two British heavyweights have been embroiled in a verbal war over the past few weeks and months and it was Whyte who finally got the better of the action on the right side of the ropes on Saturday.
It proved a comfortable night's work for the Jamaican-born Whyte, with Allen - the 'White Rhino' - failing to match the work-rate of his domestic rival.
Whyte was the busier boxer from the off and working well behind the jab, he regularly moved in to land a succession of punches on his Doncaster foe.
Allen, 24, was happy to stand in front of the Londoner and take any oncoming punishment in the hope of landing his own counters, but apart from a big overhand right, nothing noticeable materialised.
The win ticked several boxes for Whyte, who along with his International title, got 10 rounds under his belt and showcased a good range of boxing skills.
While Allen will go away to rebuild, Whyte will hope that this is the first step on the way to reaching his world title dream.
Speaking after the fight to Sky Sports, Whyte said: "I felt good in there and I'm glad I showed that I can box - that was our game-plan.
"Allen was expecting a war, but I was happy to ride the shots and pick my punches. I outskilled him in there.
"It was great to get the rounds as well and I fought at a good pace in there, I wasn't tired."
