LOS ANGELES (March 18, 2019) —Undefeated super lightweight Arnold Barboza Jr. is a young contender closing in on a world title shot. Mike Alvarado wants another taste of world championship glory. Barboza, from South El Monte, California, will take on former 140-pound world champion Alvarado in a 10-round super lightweight bout on Friday, April 12 at Staples Center as part of the Vasiliy Lomachenko-Anthony Crolla undercard.

If the 4th of July is the only month that works for Manny Pacquiao, Errol Spence Jr. is more than willing to accommodate him.

The 29-year-old Spence, a native of nearby DeSoto, Texas, would love to return to that venue for a showdown with Pacquiao. As was the case with Garcia, the 5-feet-10 Spence would own a four-inch height advantage over Pacquiao and would out-weigh his smaller opponent by a sizeable sum once they enter the ring.

Unbeaten lightweight contender Devin Haney (21-0 13 KO) met with Matchroom Boxing USA/DAZN promoter Eddie Hearn on Friday to discuss a promotional deal with the company. There’s no word yet whether Hearn will be able to sign the young 20-year-old Haney, but if he does add him to his growing promotional company, he would be adding a very talented fighter that could make waves in boxing in the future.

Errol Spence Jr. (25-0, 21 KOs) was doing some gloating after beating Mikey Garcia (39-1, 30 KO) last Saturday night by 12 round unanimous decision in their pay-per-view fight on Fox Sports. Spence Jr. says the critics told him that he didn’t possess the ring IQ to beat Garcia, and he feels that he proved them wrong by out-boxing him over 12 rounds.

NEW YORK CITY (March 17, 2019) — For the third consecutive year, Irish sensation Michael "Mick" Conlan fought at the Hulu Theater at Madison Square Garden on St. Patrick's Day. And for the third consecutive year, the rowdy Irish faithful left the building happy.

Conlan (11-0, 6 KOs) defeated Ruben Garcia Hernandez by 10-round unanimous decision (100-90 3x) to retain his WBO Intercontinental featherweight strap in front of 3,712 fans.
