James DeGale vacated his IBF super middleweight title on Wednesday in a move that many boxing fans believe was a way for him to avoid having to defend against a very dangerous IBF mandatory Jose Uzcategui (27-2, 23 KOs). DeGale (24-2-1, 14 KOs) is coming off of a controversial 12 round unanimous decision win over IBF champion Caleb Truax last April in Las Vegas, Nevada.

It’s looking like Jarrell ‘Big Baby’ Miller won’ be taking the IBF heavyweight title eliminator against Kubrat Pulev after all, which puts Hughie Fury as the next possible option for the Bulgarian to fight. Hughie (21-1, 11 KOs) is ranked #5 by the International Boxing Federation. He’s the next option for the 37-year-old Pulev to fight if Miller (21-0-1, 18 KOs) decides he doesn’t want it.

Unbeaten fringe contender Callum Johnson (17-0, 12 KOs) believes he hits every bit as hard as IBF light heavyweight champion Artur Beterbiev (12-0, 12 KOs) and he intends on proving it on October 6 when he challenges the two-time Russian Olympian at a still to be determined venue. The 32-year-old Johnson is getting the fight against Beterbiev because the higher rated contenders opted not to take the fight with him due to the danger that he brings.
